Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies
and services, has acquired Abednego Environmental Services. Abednego is
a privately held company with approximately $40 million in annual
revenues that provides chemistry, know-how and service solutions to help
automotive customers achieve superior outcomes in their paint operations.
“Abednego further broadens the suite of products and services Ecolab
provides to automobile manufacturers to re-cycle water, reduce energy
usage and reduce waste. In particular, it provides a great complement to
our strong base of existing offerings led by our industry-leading APEX
paint detackification technology,” said Michael Johannsen, Nalco Water
senior vice president responsible for the manufacturing segment of
Ecolab’s water business.
“Ecolab is dedicated to helping customers achieve better operational
performance more cost effectively while using water more efficiently and
sustainably. We are delighted to have the Abednego team join us so we
can better deliver this commitment in the automotive industry,” said
Ecolab Chairman and CEO Douglas M. Baker, Jr.
Abednego’s key offerings include total paint booth management,
engineering services and post treatment operations. Abednego currently
operates and manages systems in automotive plants throughout the U.S.
Abednego will become part of Ecolab’s Nalco Water business operations.
